Social Justice Day at Shady Hill brought middle school students together across the grades to explore this year’s theme:
Collective Responsibility | Collective Action. Through dozens of workshops led by educators, community members, and guest facilitators, students engaged with big questions about justice, identity, community, and change. From analyzing media messages and exploring biases in AI, to learning adaptive sports and practicing ways to intervene when witnessing injustice, to discussing voting rights, workers' unions, criminal justice, and more, students examined real-world issues and considered ways they can be impactful changemakers. It was a day filled with thoughtful conversation, creative problem-solving, and a shared commitment to building a more just and inclusive world.
