Our Programs

Busy Bees: Rising Accepted SHS Beginners, Pilot Program

We are very excited to welcome rising accepted Beginners on campus for the first time in summer! Busy Bees will be a strongly play-based program focused on supporting early friendships and familiarity with school-like routines, as well as enriching activities set up by our SHS Teachers, celebrating the theme of Enchanted Forest: Fairy Tales around the World & The Hidden Life of Trees. Students who stay after noon will also enjoy a social lunch time with read-alouds, more recess and choice time, and a relaxing rest time. The busy bees home-base will be our cozy and air conditioned Admissions building.

$600 per week.

Hillsiders: Rising Grades K-II

Hillsiders provides a warm, nurturing, and inclusive environment specifically designed for younger children to make new discoveries and joyfully try new things. Students will explore each session’s theme with engaging STEM activities, active movement games, messy art creations, and lots of daily recess and water play on our beautiful 11-acre campus with our popular summer inflatables! Our small groups allow for each child to receive plenty of individual attention from staff, ensuring that each Hillsider is loved, acknowledged, and celebrated.

$1200 per 2-week session, $650 for one-week option. Prorated on July 4 week.

Explorers: Rising Grades III-VII

Older students will have longer blocks of time for advanced activity choices depending on their interests. Weekly options may vary, but will include use of our Makerspace, Gym, Woodshop, Arts Studio, Ceramics Studio, Kitchen and more, developed by our own expert SHS teachers. Specific weekly options will be available on the registration portal. Honoring student voice and choice is central to our Explorers program.

$1200 per 2-week session, $650 for one-week option. Prorated on July 4 week.

Leaders-in-Training: Rising Grades VIII-IX (SHS and former SHS Summer programs students only)

For students in rising Grades VIII & IX, this program will teach essential work skills as Group Leaders in Training (similar to junior counselors). This is a great opportunity for students who enjoy being mentors to younger friends and want to give back to the community while spending one more beautiful summer on the SHS campus. Visit the registration portal to apply.

AFTERCARE

Aftercare will run from 3:30–6:00 PM and include a school-provided snack and extra multiage time on our campus or in our Makerspace.

$200/week or $50 drop-in per day. Prorated on July 4 week, and on the last week (no aftercare on the last Friday, August 2). Aftercare is not available for Busy Bees participants.
