Admission Events

We hope to provide prospective families who are applying for the fall of 2024 with a range of opportunities to connect with members of our community during this admission season. While the parent/guardian interview is the best time to focus on questions specific to your child(ren) and family, the events below provide another forum in which you may ask questions and learn more about Shady Hill.

  • + Beginner & Kindergarten Playgroups

    The playgroup is an opportunity for us to learn more about your child! They will spend time playing with peers as well as participating in one-on-one time with one of our teachers. 

    Grown-ups will have a chance to hear from a member of our faculty during the hour-long playgroup. Presentations will be given by different members of our community each weekend. Last year, our featured presenters included: 

    - Marta Rivas, Librarian 
    - Tracy Polte, Science Department Chair 
    - Nina Alexander, Visual Arts Department Chair 
    - Laura Ryan, Beginners Gradehead 
    - Erin Warwick, Lower School Music Teacher 

    Playgroups take place on January 6th, 20th and 27th. You can register your child through Ravenna. 

  • + Admissions Day - January 12

    Participating in Admissions Day is required for all students applying to Grades III, V, VI and VII. 

    On the morning of Friday, January 12, 2024, applicants have the campus to themselves! Students will participate in group activities and individual work with a teacher during their visit. (This is an event for applying students only.)

  • + Coffee & Connections

    Join Sarah Wooten, Director of Enrollment Management and Financial Aid, for casual conversation. There is no set topic or presentation.  This is simply an opportunity to connect and ask any burning questions!  To join any of the below Coffee and Connections, register here.   (This is a virtual event for families applying for entry in fall 2024 only.)
