Parent Leadership Giving

Dear Shady Hill Parents,

We hope to answer any questions you might have about leadership financial support. We hope you will join us in joyfully participating in the Shady Hill Fund at the level that is right for you. We strive for 100% participation before December 31. Here are some of the crucial things the Shady Hill Fund supports:

  • Teachers: Teachers are the soul of the classroom; many of us would say they are the primary reason we love Shady Hill! They guide and know our children so well. We are proud that the Shady Hill Fund helps support faculty salaries, their continuing professional development, and the purchase of new tools and supplies for their classrooms.
  • Campus: The tents have come down and the campus looks more like its old pre-pandemic self. There’s space for learning, discovery and activity. Our distinctive campus is part of what makes Shady Hill so special — yet it is costly to maintain.
  • Arts: Woodshop, Studio, Ceramics and the Makerspace play an important role in thematic study; their integration into learning is uniquely Shady Hill. (Just ask any alum where their fourth grade shield is!)
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) programming reaches across the grades and involves all faculty and staff, to support students and help us live out Shady Hill’s mission and values.

Warmly,

Sarah Baker P’25, 27, ’29, ’33, Joe Holper P’27, Patrice Murphy Liu P’28, ’31 and Grace Wu P’25
