Singing Our Way Into a New Year
Shady Hill has been a singing community for many decades. We have used the power of song to build community, celebrate the seasons, and enrich our Central Subject curriculum.
Our rich tradition of singing together was clearly alive and well Friday morning as we gathered in the Gym to share an "All-Sing" Community Time. Students sat as partner classes and enjoyed sharing songs both serious (We Shall Overcome) and silly (Bye Bye, Butterfly). There were songs focused on welcoming one another (Shalom Chaverim), songs sung in harmony (Sing in the Morning), and songs that got everyone up and moving (My Bonnie).
To quote one of the day's numbers, "Singing keeps our spirits up all through the day!"
