Physical Education is going strong in Middle School. Even with the region’s independent middle-school interscholastic athletic programs on hold, our teacher-coaches have rolled out a wide variety of ways to develop skills and teamwork while promoting fitness, good sportsmanship, school spirit, and fun.
Notably, they are meeting program goals in ways that adhere to the School’s COVID protocols and safeguard students’ health and safety. Most recently, seventh- and eighth-graders have been playing badminton or disc golf. Cooperation, fair play, and teamwork are on full display as is skill development and affective development. As these photos show, our innovative approaches this fall are cultivating joyful, active participants who value physical activity and healthy competition.
