Students on the Service Committee of the Student Board sponsored and organized an initiative to create care-bags for those in need at the Pine Street Inn. In the past few weeks, the Committee was given a budget and searched for the best deals on bulk goods through Amazon and through shopping trips to Target. Students then worked together to fill the bags to be sent to the shelter.
The goods in the bags included shampoo, deodorant, bars of soap, toothpaste, floss, bandaids, and notes of kindness written by the students. In total, 72 middle-school students packed 144 bags.
Thank you to the Service Committee and Service Learning Coordinator Patrick Farmer for organizing this intiative.
