Cradle to Crayons Service Learning Project

Last week, Shady Hill students sorted clothing for Cradles to Crayons as part of a service-learning project. The Cradles to Crayons truck came Friday morning to pick up the clothing we sorted and return it to the Giving Factory to be made into kits for families in need. They also calculated the impact of the project and thanks to the students’ hard work, 2,472 local children from low-income and homeless situations will have access to high-quality clothing!
Here is a slideshow from the day for you to enjoy. For students and families who want to learn more or stay involved, Cradles to Crayons also shared these resources:
  1. Read more about the Ready for Learning initiative your work will support!
  1. Volunteer at Cradles to Crayons this summer. It's simple to sign up. Inquiring volunteers can and fill out this form or email Tiffany Roca to schedule a shift.
  2. Donate new or like-new clothing, shoes, books, and more. We are always accepting new donations.
The Cradles to Crayons project was a tremendous success, and we’re so grateful to our wonderful students and gradeheads for making it happen!

Thanks again for all your support,

Patrick Farmer and Susanna Paterson, Service Learning Coordinators
