I’m always excited to do a Yoga & Mindfulness unit with my students.
For some, this is an introduction to yoga while others practice it on a regular basis. Yoga complements and supports our Physical Education curriculum and dovetails with our sports and movement program. We always begin the poses with the “daily start,” a moment of inward reflection in which we focus our minds and bodies. The 15-pose sequence we do ranges in difficulty from basic to moderate and includes some of the more popular holds such as “Child’s Pose,” “Warrior Pose,” and “Triangle Pose.” Students hold each pose for about 30 seconds.
