SHS Receives Commendation for Tot Lot Volunteer Work
The Tot Lot is a small neighborhood playground on Memorial Drive, just a short walk from campus. For just about as long as anyone can remember, Shady Hill classes have helped rake leaves and plant bulbs there every fall.
The neighborhood volunteers really depend on Shady Hill students to care for the playground. Lower School students are often introduced to the work by their Middle School partner classes, and then over the years, they grow to be the ones leading the project with the younger students.
The community is appreciative of the work that our students do. This past May, we were awarded with a Club Civic Improvement Commendation from the Garden Club of America for the work that the School has done there. Click here to read the letter.
