TTC Apprentices Get the Inside Scoop on Landing a Teaching Position

If you want a job, talk to the people offering them!

Recently, Shady Hill's Teaching Training Course (TTC) hosted its fourth annual Job-Hunt Workshop. Over 60 apprentices from the TTC and seven nearby ed-prep programs met on campus with principals and heads of school from independent and public schools in Massachusetts, New York, and Florida. Shady Hill’s Mark Stanek, Krista Demas, Serena Gifford, and Kim Walker also participated on the panels and coached.
Through small-group sessions and two panel discussions, the administrators gave apprentices advice on navigating their first teaching job search. They discussed a career in education, conducted mock interviews, and offered resume and cover-letter writing tips.

The Workshop provided apprentices with important insights on what to expect and how best to prepare for a future in teaching. Stay tuned to find out where our 16 apprentices will be teaching this fall. They are ready!
