Parent Visits begin in the Fall before your child would enter Shady Hill. These visits are a required part of the application process and are designed for adults. They are thoughtfully structured to give you a view of our community and curriculum while also allowing you the opportunity to share your goals for your child.
Parent Visits occur most weekdays between mid-October and mid-January. As you can imagine, dates fill quickly so scheduling early is to your advantage. In your trip to campus, you will:
- See our classrooms in action with a current parent as your guide;
- Hear a brief presentation on Shady Hill's innovative curriculum; and
- Meet individually with a member of the admission team to ask your specific questions and to share the educational goals and priorities you have for your child.
Families applying children to Beginners-Grade 4 should schedule a Full School Visit and families applying children to Grades 5-7 should schedule a Middle School Visit. Families co-applying children to both the Lower School and Middle School should schedule a Full School Visit.
Given the limited number of appointment times available, we are unable to schedule separate interviews with family members. We encourage all parents involved in the child's education to visit together. On each of the Visit Days, there are two time slots available: 9:00 AM to 11:15 AM and 10:00 AM to 12:15 PM.
