SHS Fair 2022

The SHS Fall Fair is Back October 15, 2022, 10:00 AM-3:00 PM

About the Fair

The Shady Hill Fair is one of our school’s largest and most celebrated community events. The first Shady Hill Fair was in 1968 and was known then as the Shady Hill Country Fair and acted as a fundraiser for the school.

Since then the Fair has evolved—no longer a fundraiser, but a day filled with fun for the whole community. There is something for everyone at the Fair: a pie-eating contest, fun house, face painting, a book sale, a talent show, alumni slush booth and games galore!

The Fair is sponsored by the school and relies on the generosity of our community, in terms of donated items, but also those who volunteer their time to help run the Fair.

This year’s Shady Hill Fair will take place in person this Fall on October 15, 2022 10:00 AM–3:00 PM .

If you would like to volunteer or have further questions kindly email the Shady Hill Chairs at: shs.fair.chairs@gmail.com

Another loved Fair tradition is the t-shirt design contest. Each year students from all grades are encouraged to submit a design that will ultimately be chosen as the official logo for t-shirts and other promotional items for that year. Once all designs are submitted, it is up to the 8th graders to vote for their favorite.

We have obtained a parking dispensation from the City of Cambridge, allowing people to park their cars on the Cambridge Cemetery side of Coolidge Avenue. Cars parked on the other side of the street will be subjected to towing. We have requested a police detail for the intersection of Coolidge Hill and Coolidge Avenue to direct cars away from the neighborhood and toward the Coolidge Avenue parking.
