SHS Fair 2022

The SHS Fall Fair is Back October 15, 2022

About the Fair

The Shady Hill Fair is one of our school’s largest and most celebrated community events. The first Shady Hill Fair was in 1968 and was known then as the Shady Hill Country Fair and acted as a fundraiser for the school.

Since then the Fair has evolved—no longer a fundraiser, but a day filled with fun for the whole community. There is something for everyone at the Fair: a pie-eating contest, fun house, face painting, a book sale, a talent show, alumni slush booth and games galore!

The Fair is sponsored by the school and relies on the generosity of our community, in terms of donated items, but also those who volunteer their time to help run the Fair.

Although the Fair is usually in the Fall, this year’s Shady Hill Fair will take place in person this Spring on April 30, 2022.

If you would like to volunteer or have further questions kindly email the Shady Hill Chairs at: shs.fair.chairs@gmail.com

This year's Fair is closed to the public

Another loved Fair tradition is the t-shirt design contest. Each year students from all grades are encouraged to submit a design that will ultimately be chosen as the official logo for t-shirts and other promotional items for that year. Once all designs are submitted, it is up to the 8th graders to vote for their favorite.

T-Shirt Sales

We are currently waiting for the second order of shirts to fill
current orders so please be patient as we deliver the T-shirts. Online ordering has closed but we will be selling them at the Fair.

Although masking and spacing are not required at the Fair, some events will require a mask and timed entries in order to participate. Masks will be available at the entrances to these events. We kindly ask for your patience if you must wait.

We have obtained a parking dispensation from the City of Cambridge, allowing people to park their cars on either side of Coolidge Avenue. We have requested a police detail for the intersection of Coolidge Hill and Coolidge Avenue to direct cars away from the neighborhood and toward the Coolidge Avenue parking.
