About the Afterschool Program
Goal of the Program
The goal of the Afterschool Program is to provide a relaxed, safe, nurturing, and dynamic neighborhood setting for children once their school day ends. The program is reminiscent of a friendly, old-fashioned neighborhood, which offers opportunities for children to be involved in group activities, cooperative projects, and independent exploration. We aim to provide a stimulating and fun environment in which children can explore their own unique imaginations, develop friendships and test their abilities. The program is planned with the flexibility to make room for children to initiate and invent their own games and projects. Additionally, we offer a quiet and supportive space for students to work on their homework. The Afterschool Program maintains a focus on the mission of Shady Hill School in the planning and implementation of our curriculum.
